Jon Schorah, founder and creative director, NUGEN Audio, answers a few questions about what to expect from NUGEN Audio at the 2017 IBC show.
Q What are you showcasing at IBC this year?
A NUGEN Audio will be showing our advanced solutions for surround upmixing and end-to- end loudness management, metering and correction. New for IBC will be the Halo Upmix 3D Immersive Extension with Ambisonic output and native Pro Tools ® 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos ® stem compatibility. We'll also be demonstrating support for new formats for our Audio Management Batch (AMB) processor, our modular software designed for automated batch analysis and modification of audio and video files, for loudness, dynamics adaptation and upmixing.
Q Any particular themes you think will occur at the show?
A We think that immersive audio technologies are evolving fast and we're looking forward to seeing progress in this area.
Q What's "hot" right now that you think will make a big impact at the show?
A Anyone that has managed to create real-world, practical solutions that implement immersive technology will make a big impact.
Q Any specific events/booths you're excited to visit?
A NHK always has something pioneering to wow everyone with and we're excited to see Avid ® show our Halo Upmix in their new native 7.1.2 tracks in Pro Tools ® .
Q How is your company reinventing itself at the show this year?
A Historically, we've been known for creating industry standard loudness management and surround sound products. This year, we'll be showing innovations that extend these applications into the arena of immersive audio.
