Jon Schorah, Creative & Marketing Director, NUGEN Audio , talks this year's IBC show.
Q What are you showcasing at IBC this year?
A At IBC 2018, we will be introducing a new update to our Loudness Toolkit for DAW/NLE audio post production. This update will introduce native support for track counts up to 7.1.2 to enable measurement and correction of immersive audio format files. Other new features include, new dialog measures, additional alert and flexible gating options to fully support upcoming guidance and internal recommendations from major content producers, such as the new Netflix guidance for best practice.
Q What trends are you looking forward to exploring more at IBC?
A I'm keen to explore new directions in immersive audio. There are now several formats available including Dolby Atmos, Binaural and Ambisonic. I'll be looking to see how these are being handled in practice and keeping an eye out for new developments in processing.
Q How do you approach each IBC show? How are you constantly evolving?
A IBC is an important show for NUGEN Audio, where we get the opportunity to connect with the major broadcast and post production facilities across Europe. It's a great opportunity to hear how we can better serve our customers and introduce the new technologies we have been working on in the last year. We are constantly updating and evolving our products to lead with industry wide changes in audio post production and IBC 2018 is no exception.
Q What are you most looking forward to?
A We are looking forward to meeting up with our customers, long-standing and new.
Q How are you prepping for IBC?
A It's a long show, so I'll be using the summer to have a good break so I'm energized and ready to go in Autumn.
Q Is there anything else you'd like to add?
A Only to mention that you can find us at Stand 8.D56.
