Global Distribution Expands Operations into North America and Strengthens Product Portfolio with New Vendors

At IBC 2017 Global Distribution showcases post production, enterprise and archival storage solutions and announces exciting expansion into the North American market.

Cambridge, UK – 15 September, 2017: IBC Hall 7, J31 sees Global Distribution highlight a number of content creation, enterprise and archival solutions from best-in-class storage specialists. Along with announcing a new North America office, Global have also strengthened their portfolio with LaCie and IDS products.

By adding IDS and LaCie to their roster of products Global stay true to their aim to seek out innovative solutions and provide the latest technology for the current and future demands of their customers. IDS, developed by IPE-Technologies, is a scalable, network-based display and control system designed specifically for the broadcast & media industry. Consisting of dedicated software and hardware devices that use a standard TCP/IP backbone, IDS can be scaled to suit any installation, and is already used globally by some of the largest and most recognised broadcasters.

For over a decade LaCie have collaborated with visionary designers and consistently been first to market with the latest storage innovations, from Firewire to USB to Thunderbolt™. LaCie is committed to helping content professionals master ever-increasing data demands by ensuring their irreplaceable data is secure, available on demand and always driving value.

The newly opened Global Distribution US subsidiary is based in Culver City, CA and is headed up by Roger Mabon and Jonathan Ellihou, President and COO respectively. Roger Mabon will be familiar as founder of G-Technology and mLogic. Prior to G-Technology, Roger was vice president of marketing at RAID storage solutions provider Medea Corporation.

Jonathan Ellihou also brings extensive industry experience to Global. Jonathan was formerly Vice President of World Wide Channel Sales at OWC where he managed the channel for both OWC and NewerTech brands, as well as NewerTech Distribution. Jonathan also served as East Coast Channel Manager at G-Technology and has spent over a decade in North American distribution.
